TOUR DESCRIPTION

When exploring the North of Iceland, a visit to Akureyri and the surrounding area is highly recommended.

Join the Fox Adventure team on this tour to experience one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls, feel the magical atmosphere and finally enjoy a unique experience of freedom while taking in the winter scenery in the company of friendly husky dogs.

Our journey takes us along Eyjafjörður, one of Iceland’s longest fjords, to our first destination, the Goðafoss Waterfall. Known as the “Waterfall of the Gods,” Goðafoss holds a pivotal place in Iceland’s cultural heritage. Hear the legendary tale of its name as you marvel at the cascading waters and take in the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Next, immerse yourself in the Spirit of Christmas. We will visit the whimsical Christmas House, where the holiday season is alive all year round. Step into the magic of Christmas as you explore this charming destination, surrounded by snow-dusted scenery and the warmth of holiday cheer. Rekindle your inner child and bask in the joy of Iceland’s festive spirit.

And finally… Have you ever dreamed of dog sledding with huskies on snow? In Akureyri, surrounded by majestic mountains and Iceland’s largest fjord, you can make this bucket list experience a reality.

Glide through snow-covered landscapes during winter as powerful huskies pull your sled, while your musher shares insights about dog sledding, the dogs’ unique personalities, and their life in Iceland. These charming animals love meeting new friends and will ensure you leave with a big smile and unforgettable memories.

After your exhilarating sledding adventure, you will be welcomed into the cozy home where the huskies live. Here, you can unwind with a warm cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate while surrounded by these lovable, furry companions. Huskies, known for their friendly and affectionate nature, are eager to cuddle, share plenty of husky kisses, and, of course, receive all the belly rubs they can get! Each dog has its own delightful personality, making your visit not only heartwarming but truly memorable.

On the return trip, our guide will show you the most interesting places in the town, including the old town and downtown. He will also provide recommendations for your time in Akureyri.
