As a former local fisherman and dairy farmer in the area, he was very knowledgeable about the region's natural history plus he gave us some idea of how people adapt to this beautiful but challenging landscape. Despite blustery winter we visited all the key sites. Although we initially were skeptical about bathing in windy low temperature conditions, Bladur encouraged us to take the plunge at Myvatn and we are so glad we did! It was the perfect end to a wonderful tour.
