Tour description

Our journey takes us along Eyjafjörður, one of Iceland’s longest fjords, to our first destination, the Goðafoss waterfall, which holds great significance in Iceland’s history. If we are fortunate, we may witness a rainbow and our guide will provide guidance on capturing the best photos.

Next, we will drive to Húsavík, a small town which is known from the film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. There you will see a charming church and port. Then we will visit a secret location near Tjörnes Peninsula, where from June to the end of August, puffins can be observed and the beautiful view can be admired. Our next destination is Ásbyrgi, a horseshoe-shaped canyon in Iceland surrounded by precipitous cliffs. We will then travel alongside the echoing cliffs of Hljóðaklettar, which are world-renowned for their basalt columns that characterize the ancient crater remains. Finally, we will reach Dettifoss Waterfall, which is 45m high and 100m wide. Here, a mass of water, mud, and sand rumbles into Iceland’s most impressive canyon. Our next stop is at Hverir, which is known for its boiling mud pits, located by Mt. Namafjall. This area is considered by many to be the most beautiful and catastrophic place in Iceland. We will take a short break at Víti crater near Krafla Volcano, where our guide will provide tips on capturing the best photos.

If time permits, we will make a final stop at Grjótagjá cave to admire the hot blue river. The adventurous can even take a photo standing on two tectonic plates. On the way back, you will be able to admire the beauty of Lake Mývatn.
